A Refuge of the Golden Elves
Millennia ago, shortly after the creation of the Golden
Elves by the elven god
Melkor, a magnificent structure was built as a sanctuary for his chosen people. This edifice, known as the Sanctum of the Eternal Dawn, stands as a testament to the enduring legacy and divine purpose of the Golden
Elves, also known as the Sun
Elves.
Creation and Purpose
The Birth of the Golden Elves
The Golden
Elves, or die Kinder, were the first and purest of all elven kind, created by
Melkor to inhabit the world of
M'Brell.
Melkor, one of the Old Ones and a rival to the god Salan who created Humans, intended for the Golden
Elves to rule and protect
M'Brell. As such, the Sanctum was conceived as both a refuge and a symbol of their divine heritage and purpose.
Construction and Design
Built shortly after their creation, the Sanctum of the Eternal Dawn was carved into the side of Elarion's Peak, approximately 50 miles northeast of
Mythan Belanore, commanding a breathtaking view of the vast, serene valley below. The Golden
Elves designed the Sanctum to withstand the ravages of time and nature. Its golden spires rise toward the sky, reflecting the first light of dawn, while its walls are adorned with intricate carvings depicting the history and glory of the Golden
Elves.
Features of the Sanctum
Protective Enchantments
The Sanctum is imbued with powerful enchantments that protect it from natural disasters and the passage of time. Earthquakes, floods, and even the fiercest storms break upon its walls like waves upon a rock. These protections ensure that the Sanctum remains a safe haven for the Golden
Elves in times of crisis.
The Portal of Continuance
At the heart of the Sanctum lies the Portal of Continuance, a mystical gateway created with the guidance of Ningauble of the Seven Eyes, the guardian appointed by the Old Ones to protect the portals of Nehwon. It is said that this portal, when activated, will transport those within the Sanctum to another realm, ensuring their survival even at the end of the world. The portal is guarded by ancient spells and watched over by the wisest of the Golden
Elves, ensuring it remains a secret known only to the most trusted.
A Place of Solace and Wisdom
The Sanctum also serves as a repository of elven knowledge and a place of spiritual solace. Within its halls, the Golden
Elves have recorded their history, their wisdom, and the teachings of
Melkor. It is a place where
Elves come to meditate, seek guidance, and connect with their divine heritage. The Sanctuary of Dawn, a grand hall within the Sanctum, is where the most significant rituals and ceremonies are held, under the golden light that filters through its stained-glass windows.
Legacy and Myth
A Symbol of Hope
Throughout the ages, the Sanctum of the Eternal Dawn has stood as a beacon of hope for the Golden
Elves. It is a place where they can find refuge and strength, knowing that their heritage and the protection of
Melkor will endure. Tales of the Sanctum and its protective portal have been passed down through generations, inspiring the Golden
Elves to uphold their legacy and continue their sacred duty to Nehwon.
The Prophecy of the End
Legends speak of a time when the world will face an apocalyptic end. According to these prophecies, those who take refuge within the Sanctum at the end of days will be transported through the Portal of Continuance to a new realm, where they will continue the legacy of the Golden
Elves. This belief has imbued the Sanctum with an almost mythic status, making it a place of pilgrimage and reverence.
