Spellcasting. The Belsornig is a 6th-level spellcaster. His spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 14, +6 ( 1d20+6 ) to hit with spell attacks). He knows the following cleric (including Olhydra domain) spells:

  • Cantrips (at will): chill touch, sacred flame, minor illusion, prestidigitation, ray of frost
  • 1st level (4 slots): command, ice knife, cure wounds, sanctuary
  • 2nd level (3 slots): hold person, prayer of healing, silence 15'#, spiritual weapon (aqua blue mace)
  • 3rd level (3 slots): dispel magic, protection from energy*
*These spells are already cast and he has fire as his energy protection. #Acts as the standard silence spell but effects a 30 foot diameter sphere.

  • Special Equipment. Belsornig is clad in +1 plate (which has gentle shifting blue/green light on it which imitates the sea) and wears a ring of free action. In close quarters battle, he prefers using his mace of smiting.
  • Dual Wielder. Belsornig can use two weapons without penalty, and while wielding two weapons, he has +1 to AC.
  • Dark Devotion. Belsornig has advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened.

Actions

  • Multiattack. Belsornig uses Toxic Orders andr Water Snakes (if available). He can then make two melee attacks - one with his mace of smiting and one with his mace.
  • Mace of Smiting. Melee Weapon Attack: 1d20+6 to hit (+8 vs constructs), reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1d6+3 bludgeoning damage, or 1d6+5 bludgeoning damage vs constructs. If a 20 is rolled to hit, the target takes an additional 7 bludgeoning damage or 14 bludgeoning damage if it's a construct. A construct with 25 or fewer hit points after it takes this damage is destroyed.
  • Mace. Melee Weapon Attack: 1d20+5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1d6+2 bludgeoning damage.
  • Olyhdra's Venomous Words. Ranged Spell Attack: 1d20+6 to hit, range 50 ft., one target. Hit: 2d6+6 poison and psychic damage.
  • Water Snakes (Recharge 5-6). Belsornig chooses an area within 50 feet of him, and dozens of elemental snakes coalesce out of the moisture of the air and attack all targets in a 5-foot sphere. Creatures in the area must make a DEX saving throw or take 2d6+6 cold and bludgeoning damage, and the target is slowed , and attacks have advantage on the slowed target. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of its turn to end both effects.
  • Olhydra's Orders. An ally that can hear or see Belsornig is blessed by Olhydra's words. Belsornig can have the target move up to 15 feet (this movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity), and the target is surrounded by a blue glow which grants 10 temporary hit points. Until the target has no temporary hit points, its melee attacks deal 5 extra cold damage.

Bonus Actions
  • Virulent Strikes. Belsornig may, as a bonus action, expend a spell slot to cause his melee attacks to magically deal an extra 14 (4d6) cold damage to a target on a hit. This benefit lasts until the end of the turn. If he expends a spell slot of 2nd or higher, the extra damage increases by 1d6 for each level above 1st.
  • Summon Water Elemental (1/Day). Belsornig summons a neutral evil Water Elemental. The summoned elemental appears in an unoccupied space within 60 feet of its summoner and acts as an ally of its summoner. It remains for 10 minutes until it, or its summoner dies or until its summoner dismisses it as an action. The summoned water elemental acts as a bodyguard for Belsornig; it must be destroyed before melee and ranged attacks can target him; they instead target the elemental.

Reactions

By Your Command. As a reaction to an attack being made against an ally, Belsornig may use Olhydra's Orders.

This is the residence of the canon Belsornig, chief cleric of the nearby Water Temple, a vile person filled with hubris and wickedness. He uses guile to dupe anyone, strikes whenever he has an advantage, and never admits anyone to be his better unless his life is at stake. He is set on becoming chief cleric of the whole Temple when it once more sets forth upon a course of open warfare against the land above.   Belsornig is working to subvert the humanoids of the Air Temple while threatening their cleric (Kelno, in area 225) — not with harm from the Water Temple forces, but rather with the machinations of Alrrem and the Fire Temple. If captured and questioned, he reveals that a Greater Temple is two levels deeper and guides adventurers to bring harm to its priests, as he sees an advantage therein. Of course, he bargains to have his own Water Temple spared and never personally accompanies any expedition to the Greater Temple, except at swords' point.
